Crybabies at Norte Dame show ultimate disrespect for the American Vice President

It wasn’t long ago in America that persons of high office were treated with dignity, deference and respect even by those with whom they had disagreement because they were public servants, held high office and we respected the office even if disliking the person in it. It also wasn’t long ago in America that younger generations showed respect for their elders if for no other reason than the fact they were elder.
Over the weekend the snot-nosed 20-somethings graduating from the University of Norte Dame managed a show of blatant disrespect to a man who is both.
Vice President Mike Pence -who also is the former governor of the state of Indiana (Norte Dame is located in South Bend, Indiana)- was the commencement speaker at the revered Catholic university’s graduation ceremony and what did a group of students do? Stand up and walk out.

How disrespectful can you get? The man is the vice president of the United States of America, the second highest office in the land. What a great memory they’ve created for themselves.  From FoxNews:

“Vice President Mike Pence forged ahead Sunday with his University of Norte Dame commencement speech as some in attendance walked out, encouraging the graduates to keep their religious faith, value the freedom of speech and saying “the future is yours.”
Pence, a former Indiana governor, was the most recent college campus speaker to face backlash or protest from students, faculty and others over ideological differences.

He was invited to speak at the Catholic school, in South Bend, Ind., after students and faculty objected to a prospective invitation to President Trump, who would have been the seventh U.S. president to give the commencement address.”

In other words Norte Dame would loved to have hosted its seventh U.S. president as commencement speaker but as with so many universities today the inmates run the asylum and the crybaby backlash would likely have been so strong that they decided to invite the V.P. instead.
The story continued:

“Pence didn’t acknowledge the planned walkout, in which dozens of students and family members reportedly left at the start of his speech and were booed.

But he alluded to clashes at campuses elsewhere that have derailed appearances by controversial speakers, such as conservative firebrand Ann Coulter at the University of California at Berkeley.

“This university (Notre Dame) is a vanguard of the freedom of expression and the free exchange of ideas at a time, sadly, when free speech and civility are waning on campuses across America,” Pence said.

….Earlier in the ceremony, valedictorian Caleb Joshua Pine urged a “stand against the scapegoating of Muslims” …”

Apparently the valedict is not in favor of blaming the Muslims who commit acts of terrorism for committing acts of terrorism.

“Cassandra Dimaro and her parents were among those who walked out. Dimaro told the South Bend Tribune that it was a show of solidarity “for those of us impacted by the policies of the Trump administration.”

What are these policies? Specifically? Notice they are never named but somehow we’re just ‘impacted by them.’

Catholicism and therefore by association a Catholic university (supposedly) believes in a traditional definition of marriage, in the protection of life in the womb, in Israel’s right to defend itself and a host of other conservative principles. All things Vice President Pence also agrees with.
So, what’s the problem? Do we need a new acronym, “CINO?”  Is Norte Dame now about as CINO (Catholic In Name Only) as Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden?
Speaking of Biden, lest anyone think only one vice president was in action this 2017 graduation season, former V.P. Biden delivered the commencement address at not one but two universities – Colby College in Maine and Morgan State University in Maryland. There were no reports of walk outs at either venue and the vice president’s speech was reportedly met with enthusiastic applause.
