On a campaign stop for what many on the left hoped wouldl be the 2016 Democrat Party ticket, Hillary Clinton gal pal Elizabeth Warren made a startling statement. Considering how preposterous and utterly ignorant it was the fact it slipped beneath the radar of just about everyone, including conservative pundits, is breathtaking.
Earlier this month in Cincinnati, dressed like the Bobbsey Twins and joined on stage with Hillary, Senator Warren offered the following attack on Donald Trump,
“When Donald Trump says ‘great,’ I ask: ‘great for who, exactly? When Donald says he’ll make America great, he means make it even greater for rich guys just like Donald Trump. …That’s who Donald Trump is. …And watch out, because he will crush you into the dirt.”
“Crush you into the dirt?” What do you think has already happened, Senator? Has Elizabeth Warren been paying ANY attention to what’s gone on in the United States the past 7 ½ years? Any at all??
This accusation absolutely outlandish. It must fall into one of two categories; either the Senator is truly the most ignorant-of-facts person in Washington today, or, its an intentional message to the masses (often called by Rush Limbaugh the “low-informed voters”) whom she knows will not question the validity of her statement.
Donald Trump will only help the rich? What does she think Barack Obama and his hyper-liberal agenda has done? Close to eight years of Democrat ideology and policy has done two things:
Made more poor – many more.
Made more rich – many more.
In 2012 the federal government (re)defined poverty as an annual income of $23,492 for a family of four. The number of impoverished has steadily grown during the Obama presidency and today the number of Americans living in poverty is at post-Depression era highs. According to data published by the U.S. Census Bureau: the first five years of the Obama presidency the number of Americans living at or below the federal poverty line was:
– 39.8 million in 2008
– 43.6 million in 2009
– 46.2 million in 2011
– 46.2 million in 2012
– 46.5 million in 2013
In 2014 14.5% of all Americans lived beneath the poverty line. Under President Obama the poverty level in America has broken a 50-year record!!
Of course as the number of poor an impoverished swells the numbers receiving some form of means-tested welfare is rising as well. The number of Americans on federal welfare assistance has climbed every year of the Obama administration and will hit yet another post-Depression peak when the 2015 figures are released. Under Obama the number of Americans on SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program; formerly and often still referred to as “food stamps”) has also grown to and remained at record-setting levels. An astonishing 46 million + U.S. residents are on food stamps.
Meanwhile, the Obama years have been very, very kind to the rich and ultra-rich. The Obama presidency has fostered an explosion in the number of millionaires within our borders and bloated the bank accounts of the ‘already-millionaires.’
According to non-partisan research and data firm WealthInsight, America added 1,000 millionaires per day or 1.1 million new millionaires during the first three years of Obama’s presidency. The pace for those entering the ‘now-we’re-rich’ ranks has not relented in the four years hence.
Those at the top of the ‘already-filthy-rich-and-getting-richer’ pile have fared even better.
The Obama economy has brought about the most number of households that report a net worth of five million dollars or more in U.S. history and also the largest number of households to report worths of twenty five million or more. The rich are getting very rich indeed.
In 2008, the end of George W. Bush’s tenure, the United States had 6.7 million millionaires. According to CNN Money the number of households in the United States with a net worth of one million dollars or more rose to 9.63 million in 2013, adding 600,000 that year alone. In 2014 the Obama economy created 496,945 new millionaires.
Under Obama the rich have gotten very rich, the poor have gotten very poor. The facts speak for themselves. Seven + years an uber-liberal presidency has created more poor and impoverished and many more folks with money to burn.
Elizabeth Warren and the rest of the Democrats know this. But they also know that the old, tired, tried and true lines work. “Trump is rich. Republicans only care about the rich. You’re poor. So vote for us.”
Hopefully at some point the electorate will connect these logic dots – if its true that the Democrats are “for the poor” then in order for them to be “for” you, you have to remain poor!
Figure it out, voters.
